SECURITY THROUGH INDEPENDENCE, CONFIDENTIALITY AND PROFESSIONAL SECRECY OBLIGATION
Protecting your privacy is the top priority. An EAP (Employee Assistance Program) guarantees absolute confidentiality and independence.

THE FOLLOWING POINTS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR CHOOSING AN EAP:
- All EAP consultations must be 100% confidential.
- Nobody, not even the employer, can learn who makes use of the EAP, because all consultants are legally bound to maintain confidentiality.
- All consultants should be explicitly required in their employment contracts to maintain this confidentiality as well as data protection.
- In order to further protect data, this confidentiality mandate should also be part of all EAP contracts with clients. This obligates both sides to refrain from any actions that could endanger or limit the confidentiality of personal secrets of clients.
- The demonstrable maintenance of this security requires regular training of all employees of the EAP provider, especially the consultants.
Certified data protection
Data protection and IT security are “must-haves” for any EAP. Personal data must be protected from unauthorized use or processing and from misuse or loss.
- A valid certificate is an indicator of functioning data protection.
- The requirements of the German Federal Data Protection Act and the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR) must be demonstrably met, transparently enough so that customers can follow and if necessary examine the measures taken.
